Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms of Service is to define the conditions, procedures, rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Chinipy (hereinafter referred to as the "Operator") and the users regarding the use of the mobile application 'OnTheDot' (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").

Article 2 (Definitions)

1. "Service" refers to the mobile application provided by the Operator through mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.), including clock-in/out tracking, scheduled clock-out notifications, real-time salary accrual visualization, flexible work management, wishlists, and related ancillary features.
2. "User" refers to any individual who agrees to these Terms, downloads, and uses the Service.
3. "Local Data" refers to information entered or generated by the User while using the Service and saved in the internal storage of the User's device, including salary amounts, working hours, attendance logs, and wishlists.

Article 3 (Effect and Modification of Terms)

1. These Terms become effective upon downloading, installing, and launching the Service by the User.
2. The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent that it does not violate relevant laws.
3. When amending the Terms, the Operator will notify users of the effective date and reasons for amendment through the in-app interface or the official website. Continued use of the Service after the notice of amendment shall constitute acceptance of the modified Terms.

Article 4 (Service Description)

The main features provided by the Operator are as follows:

1. Scheduled Clock-Out Calculation & Notifications: Automatic calculation of scheduled clock-out time based on clock-in time and lunch breaks, accompanied by multi-stage local notifications.
2. Real-Time Salary Accrual Counter: Second-by-second visualization of accumulated earnings based on the user-defined salary configuration (Net Monthly / Gross Annual / Hourly Wage).
3. Flexible Work & Leave Tracking: Support for staggered hours, half-day leaves, annual leaves, and automated deduction of remaining leave balances.
4. Wishlist & Real-Goods Conversion: Goal-oriented visualization of salary milestones against wishlist items.
5. Home Widgets & Live Activities: Real-time progress display on device home screen widgets and iOS Dynamic Island / Lock Screen.
6. Anonymous Workplace Statistics & Trends (Including Future Community Features): Aggregated non-identifying telemetry based on voluntary user configuration, providing industry/age clock-out benchmarks, salary bracket trends, wishlist spending patterns, and future workplace community comparisons.

Article 5 (Local Storage Principle and Data Loss Disclaimer)

1. Local-First Principle: To prioritize user privacy, all user data (salary information, work sessions, wishlists, etc.) is stored exclusively inside the User's device. The Operator does not collect or back up user data on separate central servers.
2. Disclaimer on Data Loss: If data is lost due to app uninstallation (which permanently deletes local data), device change, factory reset, device loss, or hardware failure, the Operator cannot restore the data and assumes no liability. Periodic management and device-level backups are the sole responsibility of the User.

Article 6 (Salary Calculation Disclaimer)

1. All calculations of hourly wage, daily earnings, earnings per second, net salary, social insurance, and income tax deductions provided by the Service are simulations (estimates) based on Korean Labor Standards Act and applicable tax tables as of 2026.
2. Actual pay slip figures may vary depending on individual employment contracts, company work rules, non-taxable allowances, holiday allowances, and bonus criteria.
3. The calculations provided by the Service do not constitute legally binding proof of salary and cannot be used as evidentiary material in legal, tax, or labor disputes. The Operator disclaims all legal liability for the completeness, accuracy, or damages arising from reliance upon these calculations.

Article 7 (User Obligations)

1. Users must use the Service only for legitimate purposes in compliance with relevant laws and these Terms.
2. Users must not reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or infringe upon the Operator's intellectual property rights.
3. Users must not engage in any activity that disrupts the normal operation of the Service, including spreading malicious code, exploiting vulnerabilities, or utilizing automated scripts.

Article 8 (Modification and Termination of Service)

1. The Operator may modify or discontinue all or part of the Service for technical necessity, service improvements, or operational requirements.
2. The Operator assumes no liability for damages incurred by the User due to the modification or termination of free services, unless required by mandatory laws.

Article 9 (Third-Party Services and Advertisements)

1. The Service may display advertisements through third-party advertising platforms, such as Google AdMob (including banners, interstitials, and rewarded video ads), to sustain continuous free operations, add new character content, and maintain system updates now or in future updates.
2. Users may unlock specific mascot characters, theme skins, or premium features for free by watching rewarded video ads.
3. When links or advertisements within the Service direct users to external websites or third-party services, such third parties and their products/services are independent of the Operator, and the Operator assumes no liability for any damages or transactions resulting therefrom.

Article 10 (Intellectual Property Rights)

1. All copyrights and intellectual property rights in and to the Service, including texts, character illustrations (all characters including the default character 'Dongjoob-nyang' and any characters to be added in the future), UI designs, icons, trademarks, animations, and source codes, belong to Chinipy.
2. Users may not copy, distribute, commercialize, or create derivative works from any designs, characters, or assets of the Service without prior written consent from the Operator.

Article 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability)

1. The Operator is exempt from liability if it cannot provide the Service due to force majeure events, natural disasters, telecommunications outages, operating system (iOS/Android) updates or policy shifts, or hardware malfunctions.
2. The Operator is not liable for service interruptions or data losses caused by the User's own fault or negligence.
3. The Operator has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising between users or between users and third parties via the Service, and bears no liability for damages arising therefrom.

Article 12 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
2. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to the Service shall be submitted to the competent court in the Republic of Korea.
